Why not check the maker’s web site for latest? Even the windows default sounds will not work. As a result, I can revert my machine back to every phase of the process.

I bought the same basic package. I can flip my system between the initial XP installation which has sound from the onboard audio device and the SP2 installation, which does not, and the gain or loss of sound occurs with no changes to bios, cmos, etc.

Have you found a fix? As I assembled the new computer, I repeatedly saved drive images so that 8488p-a could restore to a prior poing if problems developded during software installtion for a complex system.

Since the OS doesn’t have that board’s drivers. Sorry I forgot to say I did load without errors, the drivers from the Motherboard supplied driver CD.
