On the Passport, Install a Generic Text printer that prints to a file as follows:
Go to 'Printers and Faxes' and click 'Add a Printer', select Next.
Select 'Local printer' and uncheck 'Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer' & click Next
Select 'Use the following port' and select 'FILE: (Print to File)', click Next.

On the left, under 'Manufacturer', select 'Generic'. On the right, under 'Printers', select 'Generic / Text ONLY', click Next.
Click Next few times until you see the dialog with the 'Finish' button, click it.
Set this printer as the default printer.
Once the new printer driver is installed, you must Logoff & Log back in for the Passport to print to the proper printer or simply reboot the passport.
After the driver is installed, we can do the following:
From the Manager's Workstation, select Reports / Back Office Reports / PLU List
The printer will prompt you for a filename, we can enter:
C:passportXmlGatewayitt.txt
On the Back Office, open the P:(network drive to Passport) drive and you should now see “itt.txt”.
select: P:itt.txt (file to be imported)
details: From the Manager's Workstation, select Reports / Back Office Reports / PLU List or PLU Listing Reports
Click Print and wait 30 seconds or so and you will see a 'Print to File' dialog
Type: C:PassportXMLGatewayplu.txt and hit Enter
Download the plu.txt (or itt.txt .. however it was named)
and you should now see the 'plu.txt' file you saved on the Passport. Select it and you are all set.

The biggest two are the process/pause rate that is programmed on the Back Office Interface of the Passport Server (process x item records then pause x milliseconds) and if there are errors in the pricebook. A clean pricebook will obviously take a shorter amount of time than one with errors.
Gilbarco recommends the 10/300 setting and feels the customer will have a much better experience with the POS/BOS interface if this setting is your standard.
Sample pricebook file contained 10050 items.
The download took 71 minutes at the default rate of 'Process 1 item record then pause for 300 milliseconds'.
The rate was bumped up to 10 records/300 milliseconds without seeing any slowness at the registers. The same pricebook download at this rate took 25 minutes.
